Prostitutes & The Bible

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

15 Judah noticed Tamar and thought she was a prostitute, since she had covered her face. 16 So he stopped and propositioned her. “Let me have sex with you,” Judah said, not realizing that she was his own daughter-in-law. “How much will you pay to have sex with me?” Tamar asked. (Genesis 38:15-6, NLT)

Worshipping Messiah

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

"[...] At the name of [Yeshua] every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that [Messiah Yeshua] is Lord, to the glory of Elohim the Father" (Philippians 2:11-2, NLT). Worship includes grasping Messiah's hand and kissing it. Picture this: an overbearing obstacle presents itself. It is so overwhelming, that your mind is preoccupied to ensure to over that particular hurdle that’s affecting the quality of life and emotional distress that you’re going through.

Sabbath Evening Service

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

Contrary to the typical Sunday service observed in many congregations such as this, Messianic Jews celebrate the Sabbath in a manner that best reflects the cultural, biblical heritage that we have inherited. When compared to the typical Sunday service, Shabbat is a completely different experience that many just do not understand. Some might even reason that those who keep the Sabbath do so for all the wrong reasons!

Heaven (Part III)

Pride

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

Scriptures say that “[…] if any man seem to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither [does] the  Elohim’s assembly” (1 Corinthians 11:16). The proud coerce their victims with questions.         There will be times when our own brothers would love to enter into a biblical debate. Other than the fact that we really should not have such a practice within our fellowship, the Bible leads us to understand the reason why such a desire arises within some to want to debate Scriptures.

The Kippah

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

When it comes to answering cultural, biblical practices that many are unfamiliar with, it can be quite a headache. For some odd reason, the conversation changes from being able to provide a biblical explanation as to “Why do Jews wear the kippah?” to the petitioner’s desire for Jews to meet the social norms that they reason to be the more appropriate one without realizing that they’re infringing upon Jewish cultural values. I myself have been asked on numerous occasions about my kippah only to wind up in a very defensive disposition about it.

A Stammering Tongue

http://www.nehrhaolam.org

An excerpt from "A Stammering Tongue." Language is “the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way” (OED 2014). When we refer to speech, then it is “the expression of or the ability to express thoughts and feelings by articulate sounds” (OED 2014). When we refer to writing, then it is “a sequence of letters, words, or symbols marked on a surface” (OED 2014).

All user accounts have been flushed due to spammers.  We are implementing a new login/user verification system to help reduce spam postings.  Current feeds will be assigned to the Webmaster for now.  Please create a new user account to promote articles and sites that are relevant to the site.  Spam and spammers will be removed.

In the past we have allowed RSS feeds from pages at ning.com to feed articles to this site.  We have removed those feeds for the time being.

The feeds publish every time a connection is made between users, every comment that is made to any content, etc.  This is creates a massive amount of fluff content that is worthless.  If ning.com or the subscribers could limit the content of the RSS feeds to their accounts to only articles, we may re-engage those automated submissions.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause individual users.  We recognize that a number of teachers and communities use ning.com for their content managment system.  This action was not doen to target any specific user or ministry.

Please submit your articles manually, or follow instructions in this site for adding a submit/vote button into your site.  If you have the ability to limit the kind of content sent to the RSS feed, please let us know that you have done so and we will re-engage your content to the automated submission process.

We are working on a way to disable advertising for shabbat and to remove some that is counter to our purpose.

Please be patient and click accordingly as this site has only been online one week.
